i have a huge craft show coming this friday and saturday after thanksgiving. finding time to really power through and get my inventory stocked has been really difficult lately. so my dear sweet kind thoughtful loving giving wonderful husband took the kids all day yesterday so i could shut myself up in the playroom at my sewing desk and sew like crazy. all. day. long. it was wonderful, not without its many interruptions, but wonderful nonetheless. here's what i was able to accomplish:
7 covered journals, with a pencil pocket in the inside flap and a ribbon tie closure. these fit perfectly over a standard composition notebook, and are refillable. great for students and anyone who likes to make lists, take notes and doodle (ummmm.... that would be me).
6 checkbook covers, with 2 inside pockets and an elastic band to hold it all shut. so much beter than the boring black one that came with my purse. i must keep one for myself.
4 colored pencil rolls with 10 pencils included, finished with a ribbon tie closure.
3 crayon rolls (so far). once i buy crayons each one will include 12 crayons. perfect in the car for a little artist.
and this was another fun project i thought i'd throw in here. i needed a sign of sorts to help set my booth space apart, so i pieced this banner (?) together with scraps of paper. its a little bigger than i anticipated, but i think it'll still work. sorry for the lousy pics!
and here's a close-up of some of the details - alittle fabric, buttons and tags add some fun embellishment.
if you're local, come see me at the vets hall friday and saturday from 10-4. its gonna be HUGE! i'll be offering an online coupon code to all my customers (oooh!) and you can get your hands on some of these items before someone else does. whatever doesn't sell at the show will be put in my shop on monday.

cuuute! I want to come.
p.s. I know someone who needs two checkbook covers....
so cute! i love the crayon holder for the car, i'll definitely be purchasing those :)
how do you make the letters that are on the capes, blankets, etc. that you make? i'm working on some gifts and i would love to put an intial on them, either w/ fabric or paper.
You blow me away. Can't believe you got ALL that done in 1 day. WOW!!! Your super crafty..."Teach me how you do it wise one". Good luck next weekend. If you were close by I would defintly be there!
denissa - i use fusible webbing on the back of my letters, so i iron it to the backside of my fabric i want to cut the letter out of, then draw in pencil the outline of the letter i want (in reverse) to the paper side of the fusible webbing. then i cut along the lines and peel off the backing paper, then iron it on to the cape/blanket. make sense? email me if not!
I SOOOO wish I could come! Cute stuff. Still waiting (on what I have no idea) to order my daughter and I some hair posies! Such cute stuff!

Look at you! How wonderful of your Huby to give you such a gift! What every Mamma needs alone time in her craft room!
I've been making ornaments and quilts and cute little tealights...all because I'm in the spirit and can't legally put up the Christmas stuff until after Thanksgiving. And that's Friday! WOO HOO.
Love all your Christamsy posie! cute cute cute!
Happy Thanksgiving Lindsey!
You could also advertise the pencil holder as a make-up brush holder. Love your creativity!
Oh I know this sounds self-serving but I hope you don't sell all the covered journals and put some in your online store!!! I don't think I could get my hubby to go for a plan ticket to CA from GA just to do a little shopping. I do hope you have a great weekend!
oh my, i love the dick and jane journal cover! I so wished you were in NC. Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving!
I love your banner! It turned out really cute! Good luck this weekend :)
Lindsey,
You'll sell out of that stuff in a matter of hours at the Vets Hall! That is my FAVORITE Christmas Shopping! I am so bummed I don't get to be there this year! I have to take the shuttle to LAX and have to be in Santa Maria at 9:30am. I'll tell my mom to say hi when she comes though! We've been going to the Christmas Fair there for as long as I can remember! :) Good luck! I know you will do great!!! :)

I love your work, and I have a family friend who puts on a huge botique/craft fair all year. I am not sure if you have heard of it, it's called SugarPlum Festivals, they are in southern California. I think they have a website, but I know they would be interested in your work, it is so creative and lovely. Thanks for all the inspiration.
GET OUT!!! I *love* the colored pencil and crayon holders! Too cute!!! Of course the journals are great too! :)
